Glacier Nat Park & Calgary

Glacier was fun!  Gene had never been and it's been a long time for me.  We were in the park early and had the place to ourselves - until about 11:00 - then gridlock.  Worth it just the same.  Not far into the park we met Ethan in one of the campgrounds where we stopped for coffee.  By the time we toured the park, the campgrounds were full but we found a room at one of the cabins near the west side.  It gave us time to just relax, do jigsaw puzzles in the lodge and sprinkle some of Curt into a rushing creak feeding Lake McDonald.

Yours truly

Geno

Nice view

There's still snow at the pass

Motorcycle parking at the front of the visitor center is great

Group Shot

Local ground squirrel critters.
They won't kill each other but they will
eat other dead ones.  Watched one
carrying a road kill away.

More road hazard

The cabins we stayed in

Cool refurbed tour buses

Some of Curt remains at Lake McDonald

Obligatory shot

When we headed out of the park, we found a nice coffee shop in  Claresholm, AB to have lunch and watch the big storm move across our path to Calgary.  We didn't judge the back end very well because once out on the open road it opened up on us.  It started with hail then mixed in rain for good measure.  We pulled over, put our flashers on and  sang praises of helmets.  A truck pulled over and let Gene stand behind the cab, When the truck left a SUV driver pulled over and insisted we get in But I couldn't get the back door open for Gene.  I soaked his leather seats, but he was so happy to talk bikes.  Then the police came by and asked Gene if he wanted to sit in his car.  Gene, who doesn't willingly sit in police cars, politely declined.  Does this bring the FMR down a bit?
